With Gene unwilling or able to get a full time job, Clifford and his mother struggle to support each other and survive in his absence. We see the family fall apart as Gene puts his love of jazz before his family. Sharp dialogue and dimestore philosophy from the musicians in Gene’s band and the storytelling as told by son Clifford propel this  amazing play.
